Óleo a espátula sobre lienzo

En mis anteriores trabajos presenté algunos detalles urbanos de un pueblo marinero…Ahora nos trasladamos a la sierra almeriense para capturar las luces y sombras de un pueblo típicamente andaluz (Felix, Almería). Las casas blanqueadas se apilan alrededor de callejuelas más allá de un arco morisco. Intento jugar con diferentes capas de pigmento para crear una gama de blancos menos calientes con la distancia, tanto en las fachadas soleadas como en las sombreadas. El azul intenso del cielo contribuye a la luminosidad del caserío, o al menos así lo pretendo…
Añado algunas imágenes de detalles para ilustrar el efecto de la espátula.

My last posts were paintings of a marine village…Now we move to the “sierra” of Almería (SE Spain) to capture a typical white village (Felix). Small houses are piled around narrow streets and an arch from the time of “moriscos” (musulmans converted to christianism after the conquest of the region by the christians). Several layers of different colours finally result in a range of warm-to-cold whites, both in the sunny and shadow faces. The deep blue sky is supposed to contribute to luminosity of the ensemble, or at least this is what I’m trying…
I add some details to illustrate knife stroking…

Este tema es una extensión del objeto central de mi anterior trabajo, “Puerta azul”. En este caso, la fachada de esta casita de Las Negras (Parque Natural del Cabo de Gata, Almería) brilla al fondo de un callejón en sombra que le sirve de marco. Al mismo tiempo, el azul profundo de la puerta y del cielo permiten, con su contraste, un mayor brillo de la pared blanqueada.

Como es constumbre en este blog, añado un par de aproximaciones para aquellos a quienes gusta acercar la nariz a los cuadros.

This theme is an extension of the central topic of my previous work, “Blue door”. In this case, the frontage of this small house in Las Negras (Cape of Gata Natural Park, SE Spain) shines at the far end of a shadow passage that serves as its framework. At the same time, the deep blue of the door and the sky contrasts and helps to the whitening wall shining.

As it is usual in this blog, I add some close-up images for those who like to bring their nose close to paintings.
